How Moja bills Call Minutes and Voice Agent Minutes

Understand how Moja bills connected Call Minutes and Voice Agent Minutes, including per-call rounding and transfers.

Written by Moja Bot

Moja bills Call Minutes and Voice Agent Minutes separately. Both are rounded up to the next whole minute on each call, but they measure different parts of the call.

At a glance

  • Call Minutes measure the full connected duration of a call.

  • Voice Agent Minutes measure only the time a caller is connected to a Moja Voice Agent.

  • Each product is rounded up independently, per call.

Call Minutes

Call Minutes are Moja’s call-tracking usage. They are billed only after a call connects to a destination or to a Moja Voice Agent in the call path.

The connected duration is rounded up to the next whole minute. For example, a connected call lasting 20 seconds is billed as 1 Call Minute; a connected call lasting 1 minute and 1 second is billed as 2 Call Minutes.

Calls that end before a Voice Agent or destination answers—such as a caller abandoning during an IVR—do not incur Call Minute charges.

Call Minutes are billed at your organization’s local or toll-free call-tracking rate. You can review your current rates in Billing settings.

Voice Agent Minutes

Voice Agent Minutes are separate from Call Minutes. They cover only the time a caller is connected to a Moja Voice Agent for intake, qualification, or conversation.

Voice Agent time is rounded up to the next whole minute on each call, independently of Call Minutes. If a caller spends 20 seconds with an agent, that is billed as 1 Voice Agent Minute.

If the caller hangs up while speaking with the Voice Agent, Voice Agent Minutes apply for that connected agent time. Call Minutes also apply for the connected inbound duration. If the agent never answers, no Voice Agent Minutes are charged.

When a Voice Agent transfers the caller to a live destination, Voice Agent billing stops when the agent conversation ends. Call Minutes continue for the remaining connected time with the destination.

Why both can appear on one call

A call that uses a Voice Agent and then transfers to a destination can have both charges:

  • Voice Agent Minutes for the agent portion

  • Call Minutes for the full connected call

Because the two products measure different durations and round separately, the quantities may not match each other or the raw talk time shown in reporting.

Example

A caller speaks with a Voice Agent for 20 seconds, then transfers to a destination and remains connected for 1 minute and 30 seconds.

  • Voice Agent Minutes: 20 seconds → 1 minute

  • Call Minutes: 1 minute and 50 seconds total connected time → 2 minutes
